Biography

Having come from a family owned photofinishing business, I have been in photography most of my life.  I started my photographic career as a wedding and portrait photographer. From there, I expanded my profession as the Photography Manager for the West Virginia Division of Tourism. Here I had the privilege of photographing beautiful landscapes, wildlife, natural wonders, state parks, and historical areas of West Virginia. Also my position as a state photographer included being part of the photographic team for the Governor’s Office.

As a freelance photographer, my clientele included hospitals, local businesses, local and national magazine publishers, industrial and commercial photography.

My work has been shown in many publications, such as; Time-Life Books, Newsweek, National Geographic Adventure, Louisville Magazine, Huntington Quarterly Magazine, Marshall Magazine, Wonderful West Virginia Magazine, and others throughout the US and abroad.

I have taught photography classes and workshops at West Virginia state parks and at the Huntington Museum of Art. I have conducted presentations at local high schools, photography clubs, city and state conventions, and business luncheons. After my retirement from my WV career in 2009, I now reside in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. I am a member of the Myrtle Beach Camera Club, Tidelands Photography Club, and the Seacoast Artists Guild.
